The Tea Horse, LLC and The Tea Horse Koryu Foundation & School are delighted to welcome guests and new students into two meaningful offerings in Hot Springs: Monthly Kansha Café and new beginner tea classes.
Whether you are curious about Japanese tea culture, love matcha, enjoy seasonal food, or are simply looking for a peaceful place to slow down, these experiences are created to be welcoming, meaningful, and approachable.
Monthly Kansha Café
Kansha means “gratitude,” and this monthly RSVP-based pop-up is centered around tea, seasonal food, and thoughtful hospitality.
Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed Japanese-inspired café experience featuring:
A choice of seasonal kaiseki-inspired dishes — small, thoughtfully prepared courses inspired by Japan’s tradition of seasonal dining
Traditionally prepared matcha
Seasonal Japanese-inspired sweets
A peaceful tea setting
Gentle cultural guidance
Warm hospitality for both beginners and returning guests
Kansha Café is not a formal class or silent tea ceremony. It is a beautiful way to pause, enjoy seasonal food and tea, and experience a quiet moment of gratitude.
Because seating and food preparation are limited, Kansha Café is available by RSVP on this link: https://www.theteahorse.com/kanshacafe
We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations.
Upcoming Kansha Café Dates
All Kansha Café pop-ups will be held in Hot Springs.

New Beginner Tea Classes
The Tea Horse is also opening new beginner tea classes for those interested in learning Japanese tea ceremony. No experience is needed. These classes are designed for students who are brand new to tea study or who have only experienced tea ceremony as a guest.
Students will be introduced to basic Urasenke tea etiquette, receiving sweets and matcha, simple movements, seasonal awareness, and the spirit of hospitality at the heart of tea practice.
These classes are ideal for anyone curious about Japanese culture, matcha, mindfulness, seasonal awareness, or beginning a meaningful new practice.
For students who are not near Hot Springs or are unable to attend in person, beginner tea study may also be scheduled through Zoom.
